About the Role
We are supporting a leading global clean energy company in their search for a
Senior Director of Commercial
to lead and shape project origination, structuring, and commercialisation efforts across Australia. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving strategic growth by overseeing a portfolio of complex industrial decolonisation projects from initial engagement through to deal execution while mentoring and developing a high-performing team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in scaling the deployment of innovative renewable energy technologies, building the commercial infrastructure required to deliver multi-hundred-million-dollar bookings, and establishing long-term market leadership.

Key Responsibilities
* Translate corporate growth objectives into actionable commercial development strategies across key industrial sectors and geographies.
* Originate, structure, and close complex commercial opportunities, building a robust and scalable pipeline of business in Australia.
* Lead, mentor, and grow a small team responsible for opportunity origination, customer engagement, and deal execution.
* Guide the development of competitive, financeable project proposals by coordinating cross-functional input across technical, delivery, finance, and legal teams.
* Develop commercial terms, deal models, and negotiation strategies to secure major projects and partnerships.
* Build and maintain senior-level relationships with customers, partners, utilities, and regulators.
Key Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* 12+ years of experience in commercial development, project development, or business development within renewable energy, cleantech, or industrial decolonisation sectors.
* Demonstrated success originating and closing large-scale infrastructure or industrial energy deals, with a proven record of building a book of business in the hundreds of millions.
* Strong strategic, financial, and analytical capabilities with expertise in evaluating risk and structuring transactions.
* Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills, with experience engaging executives, regulators, and major external stakeholders.
* High integrity and sound judgment in navigating complex negotiations and partnerships.
