We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Indigenous Education Teacher to join our team at Fulham Correctional Centre. The Mumgu-dhal program offers a unique chance to deliver transformative learning experiences that honour culture and support rehabilitation. As an Indigenous Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in fostering a culturally safe and inclusive education environment that supports the learning journeys of Koorie students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver culturally responsive teaching programs that cater to the diverse needs of Koorie learners
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive team environment
* Contribute to the development of curriculum materials and resources that reflect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories
* Provide guidance and support to learners, promoting their academic and personal growth
Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122) or currently working towards
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues
* Demonstrated experience working with Koorie communities or in culturally inclusive settings
* Teaching experience, preferably amongst Indigenous communities
