The Role - Project Engineer

Eire is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work across projects on the Central Coast area!

The Eire Project Engineer will assist in coordinating project activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, resolving technical issues, and monitoring project progress and quality. The role of the Project Engineer will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, conducting technical analyses, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within defined timelines and budgets. The candidate that will successfully secure the role will have a solid background in water and sewer construction.

What You Bring

1. Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
2. 3 years experience as a Site or project Engineer, specifically in water treatment, water network infrastructure, or transport infrastructure projects.
3. Experience managing subcontractors, and demonstrated commitment to Work Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations.
4. Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards
5. Familiarity with WHS standards and contract management practices
6. Strong knowledge of project management principles, techniques, and tools.
7. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and MS Project.
8. Must have current driver\'s license and be open to travel in the Central Coast region dependent on project locations.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.

The Role - Site Supervisor

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily construction activities at the project site. They report directly to the Site Manager and work closely with the site team, ensuring that work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulations.

Accountabilities

12. Assist the Site Manager &/or Project Engineer/Manager with the coordination of the site construction works, and ensure that the works (including subcontracted activities) are carried out on schedule and in accordance with the requirements of the contract specifications
13. Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities in alignment with the project plans and specifications.
14. Ensure work progress is in line with project schedules and milestones
15. Collaborate with the Project Manager, Engineers, Operations Manager and Site Manager to resolve any site-related issues or challenges.
16. Efficiently manage resources, including labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, to optimize productivity.
17. Coordinate material deliveries and inventory management to ensure timely availability of required resources.
18. Ensure that all site employees are inducted and suitably trained and qualified to safely and competently perform their duties.
19. Verify the skill and competency of plant operators and other site personnel, as applicable
20. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures
21. Coordinate and supervise construction workers
22. Monitor and track employee attendance, working hours, and overtime to ensure that timesheets are completed accurately and on time
23. Supervise construction teams, including subcontractors, labourers, and other site personnel, to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
24. With support of Human Resources, manage employee relations matters including grievances, performance/conduct, attendance and quality issues in a timely manner
25. Enforce and promote strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
26. Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks to address potential hazards and promote a safe working environment.
27. Provide guidance and training to on-site personnel on safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
28. Role model and reinforce expected safety behaviours at all times
29. Hazard identification and risk management, reviewing/maintaining SWMS, Permits etc
30. Undertake safety KPIs and meaningful safety walks
31. Report any safety incidents or near misses to the Site Manager/Project Manager and assist in incident investigations.
32. Support the implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of safety concerns.
33. Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel on the construction site
34. Plan, establish and maintain the various construction and support facilities required for the project including site compounds for amenities, storage and plant maintenance
35. Monitor and control the site storage facilities and amenities, ensuring that they are maintained in a clean and safe condition
36. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of site activities, including daily reports, progress updates, incident reports, and any other relevant documentation required by the project or company
37. Management of site records, files and documentation
38. Work in collaboration with Project Manager and Engineer to complete a detailed and accurate 4 week look ahead schedule.
39. Maintain quality standards by conducting regular inspections, monitoring construction progress, and addressing any issues or deviations promptly
40. Ensure that the construction activities are appropriately planned and executed in compliance with contractual requirements and specifications
41. Prepare and deliver informative and engaging pre-start meetings
42. Maintain effective communication with the Project Manager, Engineers, Operations Manager and Site Manager, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resource requirements.
43. Coordinate and communicate with other stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, clients, and suppliers, as necessary.
44. Participate in team and project meetings, contributing valuable insights and suggestions for improvement

Desired skills and experience

45. Strong knowledge of water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure installation
46. Experience working with various pipe types and materials (e.g., PVC, HDPE, concrete, ductile iron)
47. Preferable have experience in the following;
48. Sewer and water mains
49. Stormwater Culverts
50. Working in Wastewater Pump Stations (WWPS)
51. Road construction including subgrade preparation, base layers, kerb & channel, and asphalt surfacing
52. Sound understanding of excavation, trenching, and shoring safety requirements
53. Familiarity with reading and interpreting civil construction plans and specifications

The Role - Project Manager

As a Project Manager specializing in water and wastewater treatment plants, you will oversee the full lifecycle of construction and upgrade projects, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery to the highest quality and environmental standards. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, schedules, and resources, and ensure compliance with water industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

54. Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules for water treatment plant projects.
55. Lead project teams, including designers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals.
56. Oversee construction and commissioning of treatment systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
57. Build and maintain relationships with clients, water authorities, and regulatory bodies.
58. Monitor and report on project progress, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
59. Identify and mitigate risks, prioritizing safety and environmental protocols.
60. Drive sustainable outcomes by optimizing processes and reducing waste.

What You Bring

61. Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
62. 5+ years of project management experience in water treatment plant construction or upgrades.
63. Strong knowledge of water treatment processes (e.g., filtration, disinfection, SCADA systems) and Australian water regulations.
64. Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
65. Proficiency in project management software and engineering tools.
66. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
67. Strong commercial acumen
68. Certification in Project Management is highly desirable.
