Buckland is a quality provider of Aged Care services situated in Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains NSW. We are a well-established non-for-profit organisation and are well respected in our community.
Currently we are seeking highly motivated casual Kitchen Assistants to join our team on a casual basis. Candidates must be available to work 6:30am – 3:00pm and be available to work any day of the week.
Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
* Assisting the cook with the preparation of meal ingredients (food and beverage)
* Serving of resident meals
* Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation are according to standards of WHS and hygiene standards
* Use of the commercial dishwasher to wash cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards and dishes
* General kitchen cleaning and sanitizing according to daily cleaning schedule
* Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
* Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to kitchen area
* Completing required documentation and reporting
* Adhering to WHS requirements including the safe storage and use of chemicals and equipment.
Please Note: The GSO Department covers cleaning, kitchen & laundry. All GSO staff may be required to train & work in all areas as needed by the Facility.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
* Have experience working in cooking and food preparation
* A knowledge of safe food handling principles & how to create a safe working environment
* Have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
* Have strong organisational and time management skills
* Be proactive, flexible, able to show initiative and effectively work as part of a team
* Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Understands the need for privacy & confidentiality
