Cazalys Cairns Ltd has a rare opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to join our group HR team in a stable, long-term role, providing essential HR support across our group of hospitality and community clubs in Cairns. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy, growing group environment, can work autonomously, proactively solve problems, and is passionate about supporting people and leaders.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Group HR Manager, the HR Advisor will deliver generalist HR support for an allocated club or function, overseeing all facets of HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, WHS, injury management, and compliance. You will focus on providing practical advice to leaders, maintaining a positive and safe workplace, and contributing to a culture where our people can thrive.
Key Duties
* Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
* Guide and advise managers on performance reviews, conduct issues, leave, and probation.
* Manage training coordination, WHS activities and inspections, and injury management processes.
* Ensure policy compliance, accurate records, and timely HR reporting.
Essential Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in HR Management or a related field.
* At least 2 years’ experience in a HR generalist role.
* Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act, NES, WHS legislation, and modern awards.
* Experience with HRIS and time and attendance systems (experience with Tanda highly regarded).
* Willingness to obtain Return to Work Coordinator and Mental Health First Aid certifications.

* Conducting and documenting workplace investigations, reporting outcomes, and supporting risk mitigation.
