We are looking for a full-time Pastry Chef to join a well-regarded café group in Newcastle. This is your chance to work in a chef-led environment, creating high-quality pastries and desserts from scratch. Salary is $60,000–$70,000 depending on experience.
What You’ll Do
As a Pastry Chef, your day will include:
- Preparing laminated doughs, croissants, and pastries from scratch
- Baking seasonal specials in a dedicated production kitchen
- Managing your own prep list and collaborating with the team
- Operating professional bakery equipment (mixers, provers, ovens)
- Contributing to current menu ideas with the head chef
Shifts start early (2–4am), with weekend availability essential.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed as a Pastry Chef, you’ll bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a high-standard kitchen
- Skill with laminated doughs and scratch baking
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a production kitchen
- Availability for Saturday and Sunday baking shifts
