Responsibilities
- Support Council in meeting Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations across field and corporate environments.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support to employees, contractors, and volunteers to implement Council’s WHS management system, policies, procedures and practices.
- Conduct regular WHS compliance inspections and audits; identify non-compliance and work with operational teams to improve safety systems.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes and recommend strategies for prevention and continuous improvement in workplace safety.
- Educate employees, volunteers, and contractors on safety management, WHS policies, systems, and current legislation, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in WHS or related discipline; practical experience in WHS or a similar profession.
- Ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and relevant Codes of Practice.
- Analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and influence internal and external stakeholders on WHS matters.
- Experience developing, monitoring, and implementing safety management systems.

- Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week).
- Remuneration package from $99,776.77 gross per annum, including:
- $1,713.20 per week base salary
- $205.58 per week superannuation (12%)
