As a Senior Product Owner at Kogan.com, you'll own the end-to-end product lifecycle for your domain — translating business goals into clear, shippable work, and partnering with engineering and design to get it to production fast.
You'll operate as the domain SME and stakeholder proxy, balancing business priorities, delivery speed, and product quality. You'll work closely with a Business Analyst, set the operating rhythm, and be trusted to make trade‐off calls without escalation.
AI is a core operating capability in this role, not a buzzword. We expect candidates to have shipped working automations, agents or workflows that displaced manual effort — not just used ChatGPT. You'll be hands‐on: building your own diagnostics, prototyping flows and pulling your own data, rather than waiting on someone else to do it.
In this role you will:
* Own the backlog for your product area—prioritise, refine and keep things moving against the roadmap.
* Translate business goals into clear, shippable work for engineers: problem statements, requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
* Run discoveries end‐to‐end—research, competitor analysis, insight generation and prototyping with engineering and design.
* Co‐own a squad with a Business Analyst, set the operating rhythm and partner with the tech lead on architectural trade‐offs.
* Be the go‐to person for your product area—stakeholder proxy across internal departments and external partners.
* Keep delivery moving: remove blockers, manage BAU alongside key initiatives and use data to improve flow.
* Bring AI into the team's workflows; build the automations, don't just talk about them.
To be successful in this role you should have:
* Evidence of shipping AI automations, agents or workflows that produced measurable time or quality gains—not just "I use AI tools daily."
* Strong understanding of how software gets built and shipped, including the trade‐offs that come with both.
* Confidence with data—run your own SQL, dashboards or AI‐assisted analysis to validate problems and size opportunities.
* Clear communication, written and verbal. Comfortable briefing leadership and influencing decisions outside your immediate squad.
* Experience mentoring more junior POs or BAs.
* Comfort in working across multiple projects and initiatives without dropping the ball on either.
What success looks like in 12 months:
* A defined product domain with clear success metrics and a predictable shipping cadence.
* Demonstrable AI‐driven gains in delivery speed or quality—faster discovery cycles, reduced manual BAU, automated reporting that used to be hand‐built.
* Trusted as the domain SME by engineering, stakeholders and leadership—the person stakeholders come to first, not last.
