Senior Family Lawyer Role
The role of Senior Family Lawyer presents an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality legal services, represent clients, and conduct casework in family law and family violence including intervention order matters. As a seasoned lawyer, you will provide legal supervision, mentoring, and training to less experienced lawyers, while working as a duty lawyer in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
About the Job
* Provide high-quality legal aid services to clients across the Loddon Campaspe region
* Represent clients and conduct casework in family law and family violence, including intervention order matters
* Offer legal supervision, mentoring, and training to less experienced lawyers
* Work as a duty lawyer in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of Family Law and Family Violence with experience in relevant court processes
* Independent Children's Law experience is welcome
* Ability to develop, supervise, and mentor more junior staff
* Collaborative work style with the ability to foster a supportive team environment
* High-level interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and stakeholders
* A current Australian practicing certificate allowing government legal practice in Victoria
* Eligibility to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction

Staff are required to attend office-based days at their primary work location. Interstate applications may be considered where relocation to Victoria is possible or the candidate is part of a border community.
