Primary objective
This position involves managing front office functions and providing a high level of administrative support in a busy and
demanding school environment. It also involves maintaining student attendance data and records.
Context statement
Clyde Fenton is a medium size school of approximately 130 students. The school is in Katherine. Approximately 90% of
students are Indigenous with most students living in local communities. The school caters for students from Preschool to
Year Six.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Perform word processing, data entry, administrative and other tasks as directed.
2. Undertake data entry and management of school data systems to ensure accurate maintenance of all manual and
computerised student records including ensuring the integrity and currency of the database.
3. Maintain front office reception activities including answering calls and greeting visitors.
4. Maintain the school's social media
5. Create school communication in both digital and print formats and maintain the school's social media.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures.
2. High level administrative and organisational skills, including tracking and managing work deadlines and adjusting priorities
to meet deadlines.
3. Demonstrate experience in computer literacy, software packages and design skills.
4. The ability to work closely with other team members and maintain integrity and confidentiality.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of the operations of the Department of Education or the ability to learn these in a timely manner.
