Disability Support worker needed in Alexandra and the surrounding region. The role will include assisting our NDIS participants with a range of support services, including Community Access, Group activities, school pick-up and drop-off, and Domestic Assistance, to enable independence and promote positive health and well-being in both the community and the clients' homes.
Main Duties or Responsibilities:
* School pick up and drop off
* Taking out in communities, activities, appointments, etc
* Independent living skill development
* Assist participants in preparing client meals
* Standard low needs personal care and personal hygiene
* Linking or making a referral to other services as per the client's need
* Assist participants in Household duties, organising the house, cleaning, etc.
* Assist in medication administration for approved participants
Qualifications/ Requirements :
* Working with children
* WWC Check is the required Working with Children check for this position
* NDIS Worker Screening Check or Willing to apply
* A fully COVID-19 vaccination certificate
* Current First Aid Certificate/CPR (or willingness to obtain one)
* Current Australian Driver's Licence, reliable insured motor vehicle and smart mobile phone/device
* Computer literacy and access to emails/internet
* Flexible availability to cover a range of shifts across the week, including mornings, evenings, weekends and overnight
* Overnight shifts are optional for this position
Experience :
Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar industry or the right attitude towards working in the industry.
Skills: Team player, good Communication, can work unsupervised
