About the Role
Ever wanted to work somewhere that's part thriving plant nursery, part tissue culture laboratory, all set against the stunning backdrop of Far North Queensland? Welcome to Yuruga Nursery.
As our Nursery Administrator, you'll be the administrative heartbeat of the place, keeping everything ticking across production, sales, dispatch and the lab.
This is a casual role (Level 3, Nursery Award), reporting to the Yuruga Nursery Manager and HFE Management.
What You'll Be Doing
Your days will be varied:
• Keep plant stock records and inventory systems up to date, from pots and seedlings to tissue culture lines
• Support coordination between the nursery floor and the laboratory team
• Organise dispatch of retail and wholesale orders, including freight bookings, consignment notes and making sure plants get where they're going in great shape
• Be the friendly face for retail and wholesale customer enquiries, orders and invoices
• Schedule advertising in print and on social media to keep Yuruga front of mind
• Liaise with suppliers, track deliveries and sort out any hiccups along the way
• Prepare sales, stock and operational reports for management
• Support the team with rostering, staff records and general office coordination
• Assist with basic bookkeeping, tracking payments and liaising with HFE's finance and admin team
• Maintain compliance documentation for biosecurity, chemicals and workplace regulations
About You
You're the kind of person who:
• Has solid admin or operations experience
• Knows their way around inventory systems, Microsoft Office and ideally a POS or similar platform
• Has worked in horticulture, agriculture or a retail nursery before, or is genuinely excited to dive in
• Communicates clearly and warmly with customers, suppliers and teammates
• Doesn't mind stepping into the nursery or retail floor when the team needs a hand
• Thrives in a busy, seasonal environment and takes pride in keeping things organised
