Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.
An exceptional leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM/MUM) to lead a diverse and dynamic clinical environment within the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. This distinctive role is based in the Central West NSW region and oversees a uniquely integrated service that brings together general inpatient care, maternity services and an ambulatory care unit.
In this position, you will be responsible for the overall operational management, clinical leadership and service delivery across a combined unit that supports a broad patient cohort. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high quality and patient centred care, while driving workforce engagement and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role requires a confident and capable leader who can balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational demands, and who thrives in a setting where adaptability and collaboration are key.

What you will bring to the role

* Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND extensive relevant post registration nursing and Midwifery experience.
* Demonstrated ability to create and support a culture of integrity and professionalism which adheres to legislation and policy.
* Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
* Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources.
* Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organizational goals utilising change management principles.
* Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
* Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
* Current Driver's License and ability to travel within the LHD as required.
