**Introduction**:
**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Library Officer to join our team on a permanent part time (0.6 - 0.8) capacity. In this forward-facing role, you will play a key part in assisting with the day-to-day operations of the library, as well as supporting regular programs and events. You will work closely with both staff and students to foster a welcoming and engaging library environment. This role will see you:
- Assisting with the operation of the circulation desk, providing customer-focused support to staff and students, and ensuring easy access to library resources and information.
- Processing and preparing resources and materials for inclusion in the library collection.
- Maintaining the library facilities, including creating displays and shelving resources.
- Providing administrative and technical support to staff and students, particularly with printing services.
- Assisting with lunchtime programs, clubs, and activities, including preparing crafts, book club materials, and games.
- Supporting teachers by setting out required resources for lessons and liaising with staff to ensure availability of session times.
- Assisting the Library Manager with collection development, including conducting regular stocktakes, weeding outdated or damaged books, and purchasing new materials.
