About the Role As a Senior Academic Lead, Allied Health, you will serve as a clinical leader for Occupational Therapy and also lead the Allied Health Team. You will play a key role in shaping healthcare in the region through your clinical expertise, passion for education, and research, driving the Centre's mission to improve rural and remote health outcomes.
You will develop innovative allied health programs tailored to community needs, collaborate with healthcare professionals, academics, and stakeholders, and mentor future practitioners while contributing to relevant research.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Applicants should hold a recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy, relevant postgraduate credentials, and have senior experience in community rehabilitation and/or paediatrics. Experience in rural Queensland health professional education and health services, as well as project and program management skills, are essential. The ability to lead a small, geographically dispersed team in a culturally diverse environment is also required.
About the CQCRRH The James Cook University Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health (CQCRRH) in Emerald is part of a national network of 16 University Departments of Rural Health, funded through the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program. The centre aims to enhance clinical placements and engage with Indigenous communities.
