Paediatric experience is not essential; we value your skills, knowledge, and recent experience in perioperative settings.You will be supported in your transition to paediatric nursing with a dedicated program of education, training, and preceptorship, along with collegiate support. An opportunity to undertake postgraduate qualifications to support your professional pathway in paediatric nursing is also available. If you have previous paediatric experience, we encourage you to apply.Requirements:Current registration with APHRA with recent perioperative experience.Willingness to learn and embrace the unique challenges and rewards of paediatric nursing.A team player who is collaborative, compassionate, and strives for excellence.Previous cardiac surgery experience is highly desirable.About the Department/Service/Directorate: The Perioperative Department at Perth Children's Hospital is a specialized unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for paediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. It includes operating theatres, post-anaesthesia care units, and surgical admissions.A multidisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals, including anaesthetists, nurses, and support staff, collaborate to ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the perioperative journey. The department is committed to delivering child-centred care, prioritizing the unique needs and developmental stages of young patients. Advanced technologies and evidence-based practices are employed to enhance patient safety and facilitate a smooth surgical experience. The department also emphasizes family-centred care, involving parents and caregivers in decision-making and providing emotional support throughout the perioperative period.
