Position Summary
The Mount Isa Housing Service Centre is seeking a full-time Senior Housing Officer. This role requires strong supervisory skills to effectively lead a team of Housing Officers. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to balance team support with task management, while also providing guidance and assistance in handling complex customer interactions.
The frontline role is primarily office-based with regular fieldwork in Mount Isa and the surrounding region.
Starting salary: $90,868 per annum (AO4 classification) $3,483 gross per fortnight, plus up to 12.75% employer superannuation contributions and annual leave loading.
Salary progression: The AO4 classification offers four incremental pay levels, with annual increases over four years, reaching a maximum salary of $99,582 per annum.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Housing Officer, you will be responsible for balancing team support with providing assistance to customers in areas such as applications, tenancy, and property management.
A key aspect of all roles within the Mount Isa Housing Service Centre is to empower customers to develop the skills necessary to maintain their tenancies and enhance their quality of life.
Field work is a regular requirement of this role. Conditions in the field are changeable and can be volatile, requiring varying degrees of vigilance and management of risk.
This role also requires overnight travel across our region, which extends from Karumba to Boulia and Hughenden to the Northern Territory border. Planned travel, typically ranging from two to four nights, will be arranged in consideration of your availability.

Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in leading a team, and key factors considered in effective team leadership.
* Experience in customer service.
* Experience working with a variety of computer systems.
* Familiarity with the functions and responsibilities of the Department of Housing and Public Works.
Benefits
* Annual leave: five weeks per year (including mandatory closure period over Christmas and New Year).
* Regional and Remote Incentive: after six months continuous employment, eligible for $3,750 gross every six months thereafter.
* Locality allowance (Mount Isa): fortnightly $45.80 for employees without dependants and $91.60 for those with dependants.
