The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented, motivated and professional individual with experience in an Aviation Part 145 Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Organisation and within the Aviation Maintenance Training System. You will be joining the world class Apache Attack Helicopter Sustainment Program as a Technical and Training Manager on site, at the vanguard of the Australian Army's AH-64E Apache aircraft fleet. The successful applicant will be site based at RAAF Base Townsville, engaging with Defence and Industry to achieve the desired outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead the ramp up and preparedness of sovereign capability in Townsville. Lead, manage and mentor the Townsville workforce undergoing training in Diploma Aeroskills and Cert II Aircraft Line Maintenance pathways.
Manage personnel recruitment and onboarding, mandatory training, site access, leave, time accounting and on-the-job skilling for apprentices and aircraft workers.
Lead, manage and mentor the Townsville workforce undergoing training in Diploma and Cert II pathways.
Support the Maintenance Operations Manager in governing a multidisciplinary team of employees and Subcontractors delivering technical and logistics services to the 1 Aviation Regiment (1Avn) Operational Unit at RAAF Base Townsville and Army Aviation Training Centre (AAvnTC).
Liaise with Defence Stakeholders and external agencies.
What You'll Do
Provide leadership and management to our trainees, driving exceptional performance and results.
Collaborate with Boeing and CoA leadership to integrate efforts and deliver outstanding outcomes.
Ensure adherence to Boeing policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Lead a large team of technical personnel, promoting safety, harmony, and professional growth.
Uphold ethical practices and ensure that team objectives are met while complying with DASR, ISO, and Boeing standards.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Formal qualifications in either Part 145 Aviation Maintenance Organisation and/or Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Training Organisation
Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence with supervisory exclusion removed
Skills:
Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate between stakeholders of differing cultural backgrounds and experience
Business acumen to ensure prioritisation and pragmatic deconfliction of stakeholder competing needs
Emotional intelligence to identify and action stakeholders needs in a high tempo environment
Experience:
Proven experience in training, managing and leading teams of technical personnel in an aviation maintenance environment
Ability to balance customer and business priorities to meet required outcomes
Ability to operate in a high paced operational environment
Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO standards related to Quality Management Systems, Safety Management Systems, and Environmental Management Systems.
