We’re seeking creatives, innovators and disruptors who challenge the status quo and are ready to be agents of change as we usher in one of the most exciting, progressive and forward-thinking brands set to make Burleigh its home.Job DescriptionThe Commis Chef plays a key role in our kitchen team, supporting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in food preparation and cooking. The Commis Chef will assist in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.Main Duties/ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for ensuring the smooth operation of your section, working closely with the team to execute tasks effectively.Provide efficient, friendly, and professional service to all guests.Maintain high standards of food preparation, attention to detail, portion control, and ensure all plated meals meet high presentation standards.Check that all food is stored and handled in accordance with current food health and hygiene regulations.Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and inform the supervisor well in advance.Support the culinary leadership team in ensuring all employees understand and follow department policies and procedures.Lead team members by setting a positive example and mentoring apprentices.QualificationsPrevious experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within a commercial kitchen environment.Trade qualified Chef.Food safety certificate.A passion for cooking and a keen interest in culinary arts, with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.Ready to take on more responsibility in a high-end culinary environment.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.Must have valid Australian Working Rights.Additional InformationMondrian Gold Coast is an equal opportunity employer.
