Job Title: Dementia Consultant
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be working in a dementia centre initiative that focuses on supporting people living with dementia transitioning from hospital settings back to their homes or into residential care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Apply expertise in assessment and biopsychosocial approaches to implement practical, innovative and non-pharmacological strategies to prevent, minimise or respond to changes in behaviour related to dementia.
* Support families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual.
* Equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of resources including behaviour support planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
* Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
* Relatable and able to share knowledge in a way that supports change at all levels.
This is a Fixed Term Contract until July 2028.
