The Bureau has been engaged by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority to deliver the next stage in an upgraded Southeast Queensland Flood Forecast and Warning System (SEQ FFWS). This position will manage the project to ensure on time delivery of a production ready system that meets contract requirements and stakeholder needs Who are you? The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of project delivery. They will possess outstanding customer, stakeholder and partner engagement and collaboration skills, a solution-oriented mindset. Reporting to the General Manager FWIN, the Project Manager will be responsible for: • Implementing the Project Plan activities to ensure the project is on track to deliver the outcomes on time, and on budget. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the flood forecast and warning system efficiently and effectively meets the widest range of institutional needs. • Ensuring regular reporting that identifies and risks early enough to maintain the maximum number of options to address them. This position would suit an applicant with a proven track record in successful project management. You will demonstrate experience as an effective leader and communicator with the ability to liaise broadly across the Bureau and our partners to ensure the successful delivery of this project. You will be expected to deliver high quality results and work under limited supervision while maintaining close collaboration with the General Manager FWIN. You will have strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills and be able to prioritise within tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be highly proactive and flexible. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: • Deliver project scope within the approved budget and schedule and agreed quality standards, and ensure requirements are clear and the overall solution meets requirements. • Ensure effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained, and manage project schedule, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies. • Manage and forecast project budgets and resources to deliver agreed outcomes. Analyse performance and take responsibility for continuous improvement so tasks are completed, milestones met, and any actual or likely schedule slippages are addressed or escalated as required. • Monitor and direct resources against the project budget and manage expectations of all project stakeholders. • Adopt and adapt project management methods and tools, selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches. • Build and nurture positive high-value relationships and communication lines with stakeholders across all relevant Bureau Groups and Programs and externally across partner agencies and a range of stakeholders. • Procure, oversee, manage service providers (delivery partners) to ensure quality and timely delivery. • Report on program objectives, program outcomes and work area performance for presentation to Executive. • Lead project teams in supporting Bureau WHSE initiatives and ensure your team complies with relevant procedures. • Procure, oversee, and manage the use of service providers (delivery partners) to ensure quality and timely delivery. • Ensure requirements are clear and the overall solution meets requirements. • Understand and promote an inclusive environment that respects and values diversity and complies with the Diversity and Inclusion Statement of Commitment. • Commitment to APS Values, Employment Principles, Code of Conduct and the Bureau's Social Justice Strategy.
