We are looking for a capable and detail driven Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant who is ready to step into a broader finance role.
This position goes beyond traditional bookkeeping. You will take ownership of payroll and core financial processes, while also supporting financial reporting and operational insights across multiple business entities.
You will work closely with the directors and play a key role in ensuring the finance function runs accurately, efficiently and supports better decision making.
The Role
This is a hands on role with genuine scope to grow into finance.
You will manage the day to day bookkeeping and payroll, while also contributing to financial reporting and improving how the business uses its data.
Key Responsibilities
* End to end bookkeeping across multiple entities using Xero
* Payroll processing in Xero for group businesses
* Accounts payable, receivable and debtor management
* Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting monthly financial reporting
* Stock control
* Assisting with month end processes and external reporting requirements
* Working across CRM and workshop systems to support financial processes
* Supporting operational reporting and business insights
* Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes
About You
You are confident in your bookkeeping capability and ready to step into a broader finance focused role.
* Strong experience using Xero is essential
* Proven experience processing payroll
* Solid understanding of bookkeeping and financial reporting
* Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
* Ability to pick up new systems, including POS and workshop software
* High attention to detail with a proactive mindset
Experience in industries such as marine, automotive, or businesses using floorplan finance will be highly regarded.
