Position Details
Engineering Teacher
We are seeking a full time Engineering Teacher to join our College, this is an ongoing position, commencing Term 1, 2026.
Reporting to the Head of Learning Area – Technologies, the successful applicant will be an experienced and passionate Engineering teacher, committed to sustaining and enhancing the College's strong performance in ATAR Engineering (Mechatronics) and lower school Engineering programs.
You will demonstrate your willingness to actively engage in extracurricular activities for engineering students.
Key responsibilities:
• Demonstrated ability to teach Engineering (Mechatronics) across Years 7–12, including Year 11–12 ATAR Engineering.
• Flexibility to teach in an additional discipline would be advantageous.
• Active annual participation in state and national RoboCup competitions.
• Leadership of extracurricular activities such as RoboCup and TekHeads.
• Contributing to the management and planning of the department's ongoing budget via the Engineering cost centre.
• Maintain and further strengthen the College's partnerships with various universities.
• Proficiency in teaching CAD design, prototyping, modelling, laser cutting and 3D, electrical circuitry and coding.
• Ability to effectively manage a Pastoral Care Group (PCG), fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Collaborative approach to building positive, respectful relationships with students, parents, and College staff.
Selection Criteria
• A dedicated teacher with the capability to deliver Year 11–12 ATAR Engineering at a high standard.
• A deep understanding of both the practical and theory aspects of the Engineering ATAR syllabus.
• A proactive commitment to enhancing the College's Engineering program through active leadership and participation in extracurricular activities.
• An innovative practitioner who is hands-on in developing, trialling, and testing Engineering projects prior to student construction, with an understanding of emerging and future industry trends.
• A flexible and adaptable educator, able to embrace existing and emerging technologies and teaching practices that support contemporary student learning.
• A teacher with a growth mindset, a passion for Engineering, and a willingness to undergo ongoing professional development, to keep abreast with emerging trends in this ever-changing field.
• An understanding and appreciation of the Catholic ethos, and a willingness to contribute positively to the faith-based environment of the College.
Qualifications Required
• Undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
