Proclinical is partnering with a biologics manufacturer building and establishing one of Australia's first commercial facilities dedicated to viral vector production for advanced therapeutics to hire a Warehouse & Planning Manager.
As the business moves into routine clinical and commercial manufacturing, this role will be central to establishing robust planning, logistics and warehouse operations within a highly regulated GMP environment.
Position overview
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Warehouse & Planning Manager will own end‑to‑end material planning, logistics coordination, inventory control and loading dock operations for the site.
This role is responsible for translating demand into actionable supply plans, ensuring production readiness, optimising inventory, and maintaining full GMP/GDP compliance across inbound, on‑site and outbound material movements. You will lead the planning function, manage warehouse activities and partner closely with Manufacturing, QC, QA, Engineering, Finance and external logistics providers.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Forecasting
* Own the end‑to‑end planning cycle, converting demand signals into executable material and capacity plans.
* Lead MRP processes, identifying shortages, risks and mitigation actions.
* Develop rolling forecasts for raw materials, consumables, intermediates and finished goods.
* Build and maintain planning and capacity dashboards to support operational decision‑making.
Warehouse, Logistics & Inventory Management
* Manage inbound, inter‑site and outbound logistics, including 3PL coordination and scheduling.
* Own inventory accuracy, master data, cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
* Ensure controlled chain of custody for GMP materials, including quarantine, release and dispatch.
* Optimise inventory levels to balance service, cost, shelf‑life and compliance requirements.
Compliance & Quality
* Ensure full compliance with GMP, GDP and regulatory requirements across all material movements.
* Support investigations, deviations, NCRs and CAPAs related to materials and logistics.
* Maintain audit readiness for TGA, FDA and international inspections.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
* Directly manage the Inventory and Materials Leading Hand, providing daily prioritisation, coaching and performance oversight.
* Build capability within warehouse and logistics teams through training and cross‑skilling.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives across planning, inventory and warehouse workflows, supported by KPIs and dashboards.
Skills & Experience
* Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Strong experience in supply planning, logistics, inventory and warehousing within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrated expertise in MRP/ERP systems and inventory master data (SYSPRO experience advantageous).
* Proven ability to lead teams and work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, scale‑up environment.
* Strong knowledge of GMP, GDP and material traceability requirements.
* Highly organised, detail‑oriented and operationally hands‑on.
Desirable
* Experience establishing warehouse and planning functions in a start‑up or scale‑up environment.
* Exposure to cold‑chain logistics and controlled materials.
* Forklift and order‑picking licences.
