McIlwain is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our Accounts Payable team at our Hemmant Head Office. This role oversees the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable function and plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely processing and strong relationships with our internal stakeholders, vendors, subcontractors and agents.
Based at our Head Office in Hemmant, you'll be located just a short drive to the M1 and have access to free onsite or street parking.
About the Role
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the AP function, ensuring invoices, expenses and payments are processed efficiently and in line with deadlines. You will coach, develop and support the AP team while maintaining structured processes, strong internal controls and exceptional service standards.
You will also act as the subject matter expert for AP systems and processes, driving improvements and ensuring accuracy and compliance across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor and support the Accounts Payable team to ensure all daily tasks are completed accurately and on time
* Oversee invoice processing and vendor payments, ensuring they are delivered in full, on time and to a high standard
* Maintain accurate vendor master data and ensure monthly statement reconciliations
* Ensure compliance with purchasing, procurement and accounting policies
* Provide exceptional support to both internal teams and external vendors
* Prepare regular AP reports and monthly KPI updates
* Contribute to AP‑related projects, process improvements and wider Finance initiatives
