We are seeking a motivated 1st year apprentice Machinist to join our busy and well-established workshop.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term trade career in machining, learning from experienced tradespeople in a supportive team environment.
About the role:
• Work with a variety of machines including lathe, CNC lathe and horizontal borers.
• Learn precision machining skills using manual and CNC machines
• Assist with setting up, operating and maintaining machinery
• Read and interpret basic drawings and specifications
• Work towards completing a nationally recognised qualification
• Primary focus on workplace health and safety (WHS)
About you:
• Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of tools
• Reliable, punctual, and keen to learn
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Able to work well in a team and follow instructions
• Excellent communication skills and Safety conscious
• Good attitude and willing to work, listen and learn
• Reliable vehicle and current drivers licence advantageous
• Able to pass random drug and alcohol testing on site
• Forklift licence advantageous
• Are an Australian citizen or permanent resident
