**About the role**
In this role, you will assist the Senior Communications and Media Officer with planning, creation and publication of regular social media content across the City's main channels, responding to comments and messages, taking photos and capturing and editing videos.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, researching, producing and publishing engaging digital content to support effective communication of the City's key strategies and projects
- Taking high quality photos and producing video content for the City's social media channels
- Preparing creative briefs for external providers of video production
- Seeking copyright clearances, making payments and completing tasks related to the purchase and/or use of third-party digital content
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of the City's primary corporate social media channels, (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn), including moderation of comments in line with the City's social media guidelines and responding to questions
- Helping to manage the cataloguing and archiving of the City's digital content assets Assisting in both forward content planning and monthly reporting for the City's social media channels
- Proactively seeking and generating new ideas to engage the community on social media and better promote the City's work
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in social media management and demonstrated ability to produce engaging, community-focused digital content.
**Essential skills and experience**:
- Tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field
- Highly developed writing skills, including experience writing for social media, and the ability to produce industry-standard written communication across a range of formats, including video scripts, production briefs and reports
- Skills in photography and video production, including experience using Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
- Experience managing social media, including content planning, reporting and comment moderation
- Demonstrated ability to generate creative ideas and engaging digital content
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively as part of a team, and with a range of stakeholders
- Current Working with Children Check
