Join to apply for the Sr Utilities Engineering Technician role at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Support the routine operation and maintenance of site-wide utility systems, including steam boilers, air compressors, chillers and cooling towers, air handling units, water softeners, purified water systems (RO and WFI), and wastewater systems. Assist with power resets for the electrical distribution system as needed. All tasks must comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards, data integrity guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Participate in problem-solving discussions with multi-functional teams to identify root causes, evaluate solutions, and develop action plans.
Implement routine maintenance timely, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety procedures.
Complete training to build competencies.
Contribute to team efforts by achieving desired results and critical metrics.
Support third-party vendors performing maintenance activities.
Accurately complete GMP documentation related to maintenance activities, ensuring data integrity.
Perform any other duties assigned by the utilities engineer.
Qualifications & Experience:
NITEC or Diploma in an engineering-related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
First-class boiler attendant certification.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Strong understanding of facilities and utility systems, especially related to validation and GMP requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis tools.
Ability to work independently.
Willingness to work rotating shifts.
