Global Geological has established a graduate training program which includes options to work across exploration and mining properties in Australia, the western USA and the Philippines. The program is designed to work with our broad client base in each country to gain exposure to their operations and develop industry-based skills and networking opportunities. Initial opportunities are with our client operations in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Opportunities also exist for sponsorship to work in the USA to further broaden your experience in a different country and across multiple geological settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Exploration
· Assist with project preparation and execution of exploration programs, including but not limited to, research and target rankings, mapping, soil sampling, drill rig supervision, core logging, managing field logistics, and evaluation of results
· Assist with geochemical and/or geophysical surveys and prospecting activities
· Quality control (QAQC) and data capture from various field activities including mapping, soil and rock chip sampling, and drilling
· Ensure that exploration activities are consistent with all Environmental, Health and Safety policies
Mining
· Support Technical services team for geological input at an underground and/or open pit mine with activities including, Grade Control drilling, ore spotting, ore mining controls and documentation, reconciliation and EOM reporting.
· Have a strong commitment to safety and communication in both the field and office settings
Data Management and 3D modelling
· Assist with project preparation and execution of exploration programs, including but not limited to, research and target rankings, mapping, soil sampling, drill rig supervision, core logging, managing field logistics, and evaluation of results
· Assist with geochemical and/or geophysical surveys and prospecting activities
REQUIREMENTS
· A bachelor's degree in Geology
· Graduate Level up to 3 years' experience
KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Competence in GIS, Microsoft Office, and 3D modelling software is a benefit
• Experience or an introduction to geological mapping, lithologic sampling, soil sampling, drilling and logging (RC/Core)
• An understanding of geological settings, deposit models, and ore-forming processes
