About Cadia Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method. Who we're looking for: The Cost Controller is responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that work records, delivery dockets, invoices and progress claims have been analysed and allocated correctly, in a timely fashion, and in compliance to the contracts and cost control procedures held by Newmont Cadia. They will utilise their superior SAP skills to support Asset Management (Cadia) staff and identify opportunities for process improvement. In addition, they will provide a pivotal support role by co-ordinating the collection of month end data, Procure-to-Pay and Invoice processing. The Cost Controller will form part of the onsite Maintenance Systems team reporting directly to the Maintenance Systems supervisor. The following key responsibilities ensure that the Cost Controller plays a crucial role in managing and controlling costs effectively at Newmont Cadia Operations. Key responsibilities include: Liaising with Stakeholders: The Cost Controller is responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that work records, delivery dockets, invoices, and progress claims have been analysed and allocated correctly, in a timely fashion, and in compliance with the contracts and cost control procedures held by Newmont Cadia. SAP Support: Utilizing superior SAP skills to support Asset Management (Cadia) staff and identify opportunities for process improvement. Month-End Data Collection: Coordinating the collection of month-end data for Purchase Order management. Cost Monitoring: Monitoring and maintaining the onsite allocation and accrual process by embedding controls and providing oversight of costs. Relationship Building: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders including suppliers, regional colleagues, and Infosys. Procure-to-Pay Process: Assisting in creating "best practice" for the procure-to-pay process within the SAP framework by providing SAP training and support to staff. Invoice Processing: Ensuring accounts and invoices are processed in line with contractual obligations, including verification of goods or services at the quality requested. Compliance and Improvement: Regularly appraising the performance of internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with cost control procedures and continuously improving systems and processes to minimize costs wherever possible. Team Participation: Participating in site team meetings and acting as a liaison between the finance team and other members of the site administration team as required. Adherence to Procedures: Ensuring that all SOx, corporate, and site procedures are adhered to and that operations comply with all relevant government and statutory Acts and Regulations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team. You will also possess the following: A Certificate in Business Administration and/or Business Management & demonstrated in role experience would be highly regarded. Strong administration skills. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel Advanced PC skills and computer literacy with respect to MS Office Suite Products.
