As a vital member of the maintenance crew in Canberra, tasked with a six-month contract, you'll actively contribute to daily road and path upkeep. Your role focuses safety and adherence to procedures, rotating across crews for versatility and operational efficiency.
This energetic position involves undertaking diverse tasks essential for the upkeep of roads and pathways, ultimately supporting the smooth functioning of our infrastructure. Your commitment to safety and adherence to protocols will be paramount as you work collaboratively with the team to achieve maintenance goals and uphold the quality of service delivery.

Responsibilities
- Perform various road maintenance tasks, including directing traffic, using equipment such as brooms and pavers, fixing potholes and paving, cleaning spills and debris, painting lines and installing signs, removing trip hazards, and planning road work.
- Keep vehicles and equipment maintained and keep the work area clean.
- Do minor maintenance or report issues to supervisor.
- Train team members on equipment safety.
- Follow procedures, report incidents, and use equipment safely.
Qualifications
- Preferably you will have hands‐on experience.
- Full working rights (PR or Aus Citizen).
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in different weather conditions.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and operating machinery.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
- Preference for MR‐Class Driver's License.
- Prioritizing Safety with CPCWHS1001.
- Mandatory Asbestos Awareness Training (11084NAT).
- Managing Crystalline Silica Exposure (10830NAT).
This role allows the individual to take on both the responsibilities of a civil/construction labourer, contributing to various aspects of roadside projects.
