This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible permanency.

Role

The successful applicant should be able to effectively:

- Support teaching and Education Assistant (EA) staff to implement evidence-based practice through professional learning, coaching and regular communication.
- Support teachers to effectively utilise School of Educational Needs (SEN) planning and reporting.
- Collaborate with the school psychologist, school nurse, speech therapist, Students Services Program Coordinators and chaplains to support students with additional needs.
- Oversee intervention programs (Zones of Regulation, Protective Behaviours) and engage with external agencies.
- Continue to maintain and improve administrative and operational systems to meet all students’ needs.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Learning Plans, conduct parent meetings as required and ensure updated plans are communicated with relevant staff.
- Coordinate support through School of Special Educational Needs:Disability (SSEN:D) for referred students.
- Work with the transition coordinator for identified incoming students with additional needs.
- Identify needs for physical and human resources to support SEN.
- Coordinate education assistants as required.
- Liaise with leadership team to ensure equitable access to assessments such as National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) and Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking (ATAR).
- Collaborate with the Lead EA in the application for and review of the school's Disability Resourcing applications.

The successful applicant would join a qualified and supportive team and should uphold the school’s high standards of practice, engage in ongoing learning, and contribute meaningfully to whole-school improvement efforts. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to have difficult conversations with staff, students and parents are highly desirable traits for the Learning Support Coordinator. The successful applicant should have extensive knowledge of best practice teaching and learning strategies for students with additional needs, both diagnosed and imputed.
