As an Assistant in Midwifery (AIM) your responsibilities will include:

* Assist nurses,midwives or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties
* Work as part of the health care team; practice in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice
* Provide direct care to women and their families within the AIM scope of practice and level of experience
* Will ensure women are supported through all phases of pregnancy, labour and birth and the postnatal period
* Successful completion of Year 1 of Bachelor of Midwifery
* Current enrolment and ongoing progress in the Bachelor of Midwifery course with a satisfactory academic record maintained.
* Excellent ability to plan and prioritise work
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
* Flexibility to manage shift work (including, day & night shifts) over 7 days
