Haematology and Transfusion Laboratory Scientist
This is a full-time, fixed-term role that will enhance your skills and provide you with a depth of knowledge of laboratory services required at the hospital. The role involves rotating shifts and on-call while working a 9-day fortnight.
About the Job
* Perform routine and specialized haematology and transfusion diagnostic laboratory tests, including validation and reporting after appropriate training.
* Maintain and troubleshoot automated and manual instrumentation and equipment within haematology and transfusion.
* Participate in a rotational roster, including early mornings, afternoons, and evening shifts.
* Adhere to standard operating techniques and procedures documented in laboratory manuals as required by international quality standards.
* Contribute to departmental continuing education, ongoing competency programs, and external quality assurance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory duties, including but not limited to, haematology, transfusion, and specimen reception as directed by the principal scientist.

Requirements
* Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine) or equivalent degree.
* Demonstrated relevant technical skills and knowledge.
* Professional attitude in interaction with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
