Overview
Laurent Bakery currently has employment opportunities available for qualified and experienced Pastry/Cooks to join our Cake Kitchen team, creating the masterpieces that you find in our luxury cafes. This is an opportunity that rarely exists and is not to be missed. We are searching for talented and motivated individuals to join the team in our state-of-the-art Cake Kitchen. You will enhance your pastry and cake skills working with our exceptionally talented team skilled in the art of French patisserie.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, season and cook pastries as directed including moulding/mixing
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
- Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities
- Train apprentices and other kitchen staff
- Recording food temperature
- Cooks require menu planning and meal costing experience
- Experience in French patisserie (highly preferred)
- Have some knowledge of HACCP quality systems and quality focus
- Able to perform all prep work
- Calm under pressure
- Ability to read orders and effectively communicate in a rapid-paced kitchen
- Friendly, hardworking individual with the right attitude
- Available weekends and evenings
- The ability to work as part of a team and multi-task
Education & Experience
- Education: Cert III or higher depending on role and at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Without formal qualification, at least four years relevant work experience
