Larvotto Resources is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project and is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our team and community in Armidale, NSW. Hillgrove is located 23km east of Armidale in northern NSW. Located in the New England region, Armidale is a well-serviced regional city surrounded by natural beauty. It is centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney and is only a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.
Location:
This role is available on a residential basis only with reginal and interstate relocation packages available to Armidale, NSW.The position will be based at the Hillgrove Mine 25 mins outside of the Armidale township.
This role follows 5 days on, 2 days off roster, 4 days on, 3 days off roster (5:2) (4:3), working 10-hour shifts per day.
Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with extensive experience in both underground and open pit mining to lead safe and efficient operations at Hillgrove Mine.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and expert guidance on geotechnical issues across both open pit and underground operations.
Support life-of-asset planning and operational design with timely, practical geotechnical advice.
Mentor, coach, and develop site geotechnical engineers, building a strong functional capability across sites.
Work with consultants and third parties to ensure high-quality geotechnical deliverables for studies and projects.
Review and enhance geotechnical systems, standards, and governance frameworks.
Support risk identification and mitigation across the business through robust geotechnical analysis.
Contribute to innovation and the adoption of new tools, technologies, and approaches
in ground control and slope stability.
Participate in technical forums and industry bodies as a representative of the company's geotechnical discipline.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Engineering Geology.
Tickets:
4WD experience, an accredited qualification in off-road driving, highly desired.
Senior First Aid Certificate/CPR Qualification, highly desired.
Experience:
8+ years' geotechnical experience, including both underground and open pit operations.
Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing technical teams.
Knowledge:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
Chartered Professional Engineer status (or working towards it) highly regarded.
Expertise in geotechnical risk management, mine design integration, and operational support.
Software Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of geotechnical software such as FLAC, RS3, Slide, Conscience tools, etc.
Driver's License:
Other Requirements:
Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance, obtained within the last six months upon request.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and comply with ongoing testing during employment.
