We're recruiting on behalf of a leading global consultancy, renowned for helping clients plan, procure, deliver, optimise, and decarbonise built assets across multiple sectors. As the firm continues to expand, we're seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager or a Project Manager with a strong background in social infrastructure projects particularly in education and civic/community facilities to join their team on a long-term, five-days-per-week on-site secondment with a leading tertiary institution.
The Opportunity
You'll lead a diverse portfolio of social infrastructure projects, including new builds, major refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades. Working fully on site within a live campus environment, you will drive sustainability outcomes, ensure stakeholder alignment, and deliver high-quality outcomes across every phase of the project lifecycle. Your experience in social infrastructure will be key to managing operational challenges while enhancing the experience for students, staff and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Delivery: Lead end-to-end delivery of new construction, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades in educational and civic facilities.
* Sustainability Leadership: Support best-practice approaches in electrification, energy efficiency, and decarbonisation.
* Design & Construction Oversight: Manage feasibility, detailed design, procurement, and delivery phases.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including educators, healthcare staff, administrators, and facility managers.
* Procurement & Commercial Management: Oversee tenders, contracts, budgets, forecasting, and value management.
* Governance & Reporting: Maintain robust project documentation, risk registers, dashboards, and compliance reporting.
* Collaboration: Foster clear communication and alignment across contractors, consultants, and institutional partners.
About You
* Proven end-to-end delivery experience in social infrastructure projects, including campuses, schools and civic/community facilities.
* Skilled in managing major refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption to live environments.
* Strong commercial acumen with proven capability in budget management, procurement, and contract administration.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders.
* Solutions-focused, adaptable, and able to navigate complex project environments.
* Experience in sustainable design, building services upgrades, and energy-efficient construction is desirable.
Qualifications
* Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM) are highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of building codes, safety standards, and compliance frameworks.
