About the role
The Procurement Manager ensures that AGL derives maximum value from its external spend through leadership and support of Category, Sourcing and post-contract team members in the execution and implementation structured market engagements and ongoing category and contract stewardship. To achieve this, Procurement Managers require direct experience and capability across the range of skills required of Category teams plus broad people-leadership capability.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead, coach and support the Procurement team at Loy Yang in the planning and execution of sourcing activities and implementation of sourcing outcomes.Manage stakeholder relationships with Senior Leadership team, contract owners and vendors servicing Loy Yang.Provide commercial insight and support the Loy Yang Senior Leadership team in third party commercial and coordinate with Sourcing and other function peers to ensure sourcing activities are prioritised and executed to maximise benefit and value to AGL.Ensure Procurement policies, procedures and disciplines are consistently applied in the execution of sourcing activities by team members.Proactively engage cross functional peers and stakeholders to identify and implement improvements and enhancements to systems and processes.Execute sourcing activities by taking direct responsibility for critical impact requirements or in periods of peak workload/team member absence.
What You'll Bring
Preference for 5-10 years' experience in Procurement or Supply Chain and leadership rolesExperience in strategic sourcing and developing commercial arrangements and capture of outcomes in contract documentationAbility to plan, prioritise, and coach others to manage changing requirementsAbility to establish expectations and coach others in the planning and execution of sourcing activities and negotiation strategiesAbility to coach others in the analysis of the cost and capability of AGL's suppliers and supply marketsPreferably degree qualified in a Commercial/Business discipline or Engineering.MCIPS qualification (desirable)We'd love to see your application submitted by Tuesday 24 March 2025.
