We are currently looking for an experienced Service Manager, with experience in the Heavy Vehicle environment for a dealer in Canberra. This group represents a number of excellent brands and has a strong customer base.
Responsible for the daily operation of the service department - assigning jobs, checking progress of work, ensuring correct procedures are followed, and liaising with customers, this position will be both challenging and rewarding.
Working with our Service Operations Manager and reporting directly to the Dealer Principal & CFO, this role requires a Service Manager who is committed to carrying out their work with purpose, as our customers trust our Service Department to keep their heavy vehicles in operation when it matters most.
**Qualifications & experience**
- Good computer skills and the ability to operate Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and manufacturer's programs.
- Sound mechanical knowledge provides a distinct advantage in this role, however it is a well organized Service Office Manager we're after first and foremost
- An automotive or transport industry background will provide a distinct advantage
- Ability to understand service department KPI's and maximize the utilization of service & repair capacities (Maximizing Productivity & Efficiency etc)
- Ability to work in a fast paced Service Centre environment whilst delivering excellent customer service, and promoting customer retention
- A high level of commitment to safety and compliance
- Superb interpersonal skills, particularly in motivating teams and creating a positive working environment

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Liaising with both Workshop Foreman & Technicians to optimize workflow
- Raise repair orders and invoice completed jobs
- Monitor workshop KPI's for efficiency and productivity to meet monthly targets
- Oversee warranty staff and claim submission times
- Understand our brand partners (OEM) aftersales incentives, training requirements, and warranty procedures to best optimize our franchised partnerships
