Payroll Officer (0.6 FTE Part-time Mon-Wed)

We own and operate multiple hospitality venues, including TARRA Restaurant (Queenscliff), ONDA (Sorrento), plus onboard and terminal kiosks.

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our busy finance function in a part-time capacity. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll work closely with our team of Accountants, Payroll/Accounts Officers across several group entities, delivering weekly payroll processing, and supporting Department Managers and new employees with pre-onboarding/onboarding paperwork, and offboarding tasks.
This role is located onsite at our Queenscliff Head Office, and it is a requirement that the successful applicant work 24 hours per week on the set days of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (start/finish times can be negotiated).
Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly payroll and related obligations for five entities
* Liaise with department managers to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions
* Prepare onboarding packs and maintain new-starter documentation
* Manage exits and maintain employee records across systems
* Maintain confidential payroll and personnel records accurately
* Assist with other payroll and finance-related tasks as required.
About You
* Proven payroll experience in a similar role
* Strong organisation and prioritisation skills; able to work independently and with a team
* Good knowledge of HR processes, Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards
* Proficient in Office 365, experience with Microkeeper or similar payroll software highly regarded
* Strong numeracy, literacy and professional communication skills
* High level of discretion
* Full Australian work rights and current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
