Legal Assistant – Property & Development
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Property & Development team in Melbourne.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Matter and file management including opening and closing matters, conflict checks, client engagements and maintaining daily electronic and physical filing.
* Prepare, format, and amend documents and correspondence using precedents.
* Proactive diary and inbox management of lawyers.
* Conduct ASIC, PPSR, title and instrument searches, and obtain property certificates.
* Liaise with clients and stakeholders to build strong working relationships.
* Printing, filing and general administrative support.
* Monthly billing, invoicing and client reporting.
* Backup support and assistance within the team.
* Maintain cyber security at all times. Cultivate awareness of security risks, stay informed of latest cyber threats, instil best cybersecurity practices and take practical steps to protect the firm and clients from cyberattacks.
Skills & Knowledge
* Accurate typing and proofreading skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Professional telephone manner and ability to field calls where appropriate.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational and administrative ability.
* Proficient in MS Office suite. Exposure to a document management system such as iManage, Caseflow, or Aderant is preferred.
* Familiarity with PEXA and SPEAR is highly regarded.
Experience
* Minimum 2‐3 years' experience as a Legal Assistant; Property experience is preferred.
