Your day in the life of a Billing and Credit Risk & Governance Consultant at Optus
Responsibilities
Evaluate the nature of risks including likelihood, sensitivity, impact scope, and interim remediation work, using the Optus risk matrix.
Identify business ownership, confirm acceptance, manage stakeholders, and support remediation activities across B&C units.
Maintain the B&C Risk Register and participate in monthly risk meetings.
Prepare risk reports for senior management and collate closure documentation.
Collaborate with the Risk Group to reflect B&C risks, maintain accountability, and lead risk workshops.
Manage regulatory notices, maintain version control, and engage with bodies like ACCC, OAIC, ACMA, and TIO.
Handle internal risks and non-compliance issues, and support risk remediation activities involving financial reporting impacts such as credit adjustments, refunds, and debt buybacks.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in credit risk management and remediation.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Ability to propose effective preventative measures.
Strong engagement with Group Risk, Billing, Credit units, and other business areas like Product, Regulatory, Legal, Customer Success.
As the custodian of Billing and Credit policies, you will:
Perform annual audits and compliance checks on policies such as ID and Activation, Credit Management, and Financial Hardship.
Link SOPs and controls to policies.
Maintain a central library of audits and assessments.
Record non-compliance issues in the Risk register.
