An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and skilled Practical Arts (Visual Arts and Design Graphics) Technician to join our vibrant Practical Arts Department. The position requires a warm and welcoming nature, outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Flexibility with work hours may be required, and holidays must be taken during school holiday periods.

The successful applicant will:


• Model and maintain the Catholic and Presentation ethos of the College.


• Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Visual Art and Design Graphics materials, processes and equipment.


• Exhibit excellent time management, organisational and forward-planning skills.


• Apply initiative, creativity and strong problem-solving abilities in daily tasks.


• Display effective teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.


• Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and professional presentation.


• Support Visual Arts and Design staff in the purchasing, preparation, creation and organisation of materials/equipment, printing and student works.


• Undertake stocktake and reordering as required, maintaining clear communication with staff regarding resource needs.


• Maintain accurate expenditure records and liaise with the Head of Department and College Finance Team on financial matters.


• Assist teaching staff and students during classroom activities, workshops and projects.


• Apply and model strong Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices at all times.

Highly Desirable:


• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).


• Skills in digital print preparation, colour correction and file optimisation.


• Basic photography and lighting knowledge (DSLR camera use, studio setup and image editing).


• Familiarity with or willingness to upskill in the use of tools and technologies for creating frames and support structures for student and gallery displays.

This role is suited to someone with practical expertise in Visual Arts, Design Graphics and/or Materials and Technology, and a genuine passion for supporting teaching and learning within a Catholic educational environment.
