About the Role
You will develop and manage short-term shutdown plans that align with the broader Asset Management Strategy. Ensuring shutdowns are fully scoped, resourced, budgeted, and execution-ready within the 12-week planning horizon.
You'll also lead the critical Return to Work (RTW) process, ensuring off-hire equipment is accurately assessed, scoped, priced, and workshop-ready before execution begins.
This role requires strong technical capability, exceptional stakeholder engagement, and the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts under demanding operational timeframes.

Core Responsibilities
Shutdown Planning & Coordination
- Understand upcoming asset shutdown schedules across the next 3–6 months, including MEC/MEU component replacements, return to work (RTW) events and asset movements and fleet requirements
- Trigger targeted pre-shutdown and off-hire inspection events to assess equipment condition and identify required works
- Manage shutdowns through to execution by coordinating labour and resource workflows with Site Superintendents and Project Managers
- Ensure all shutdown events are accurately reflected in the rolling 12-week and 4-week schedules
- Develop and maintain detailed shutdown plans within the 12-week execution window covering
Scope, Budget & Resource Management
- Ensure BOM kits are suitable for component change-outs and procure additional parts as required
- Deliver accurate shutdown scopes to external vendors and labour providers for budgeting purposes
- Ensure all shutdown scopes are costed appropriately and remain compliant with approved regional CAPEX and OPEX budgets
- Submit draft shutdown plans to the Central Planning Hub for review and approval prior to execution
- Own the shutdown checklist process to ensure all preparatory tasks are completed ahead of execution
Return to Work (RTW) Leadership
- Own RTW shutdown planning and coordination processes
- Ensure off-hire equipment is scoped, priced, and communicated to workshops before machine arrival
- Coordinate all stakeholders to ensure equipment arrives in a work-ready state
- Host Post Maintenance Reviews covering compliance to plan, Labour utilisation, parts and component performance, shutdown workflow effectiveness, improvement opportunities
- Provide feedback to the Central Planning Hub to support continuous improvement in shutdown and asset strategies
About You
- Previous experience in a similar Shutdown Planning or Maintenance Planning role
- Strong maintenance knowledge of Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME), particularly CAT, Hitachi and Komatsu
- Trade background in mechanical maintenance (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance scheduling and shutdown coordination
- Strong understanding of mining operations and equipment productivity drivers
- Experience using AMT/CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Strong planning, forecasting, and time management capability
- Ability to deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines
- Have a current drivers licence
- Have a Mechanical Trade Qualification (HME preferred)
- Degree in Planning, Management or related discipline (desirable)
