The Role

Are you a dedicated and skilled midwife looking for a fulfilling career in a supportive, collaborative, and dynamic environment?

Affectionately known as "The Mothership", John Hunter Hospital is the centralised point for a wide range of maternity and birthing services. It is the leading health facility in Newcastle and supports all levels of complex midwifery and birthing services. You will also enjoy a brand new, state of the art maternity ward and facilities due to the John Hunter Health & Innovation Precinct project. If you want to grow your career into a specialisation, look no further than John Hunter Hospital – you will be given exposure to any and all areas of midwifery of your choice; including antenatal care, labour, birthing suite and postnatal care. No other facility in our district is able to provide complex midwifery services, so if you enjoy a challenge then John Hunter Hospital is the place to go

You won't be working alone. You'll be supported by a large multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering holistic, woman-centred care to our patients in what can often be an exciting but nerve-wracking time for them. We encourage our midwifery team to pursue development pathways that allow you to work towards specialties that align with your career goals and interests, and new registered midwives would be encouraged to do the same.

Make a meaningful impact on the lives of women, newborns, and families while growing your career in an inspiring and supportive environment. If this sounds like the opportunity you've been searching for, we'd love to hear from you
