Position Summary
The Lead Field Foreman is a senior, hands-on field leader responsible for coordinating daily construction activities across one or more job sites. This role works directly in the field while providing leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to crews. The Lead Field Foreman ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Supervision
* Lead, supervise, and mentor field crews and foremen on active job sites
* Set daily work plans, assign tasks, and ensure crews understand scope and expectations
Project Execution
* Oversee daily construction operations to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards
* Monitor progress, productivity, and workmanship across multiple sites as assigned
* Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to support efficient workflow
Hands-On Work
* Actively participate in construction work as needed, leading by example
* Assist crews with complex or critical tasks requiring experience and technical skill
Safety & Compliance
* Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements
* Conduct daily safety briefings and job hazard analyses
* Address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
Mentorship & Training
* Train and mentor crew members, including new hires
* Promote skill development, accountability, and a positive team culture
Communication & Coordination
* Communicate regularly with Operations Manager, Project Managers, and office staff
* Report daily progress, labor hours, issues, and material needs
* Identify and help resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget
Quality Control
* Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and client expectations
* Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions
Qualifications
* 5+ years of construction experience, with demonstrated leadership or foreman experience
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment relevant to the trade
* Proven ability to lead crews while remaining hands-on in the field
* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites
* OSHA certification preferred
Physical Requirements
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Ability to lift, carry, and use construction tools and materials
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods
Work Environment
* Primarily field-based across active construction sites
* Travel between multiple job sites required
