The role supports clinical competency, professional development, and evidence-based practice among staff. The Emergency Clinical Nurse Educator works cohesively and collaboratively within the Emergency and Critical Care Divisional Education team.Major components of the position include:Bedside clinical support and mentoring of new staff and learnersPlan and provide in-service training to meet staff continuing professional development needsDesign, develop, implement and evaluate learning programs in response to learner needs and gap analysisFacilitate and perform assessments as a component of divisional education programs, including Introduction Pathway, Transition to Specialty Practice, and Postgraduate Certificate studiesContribute to the development and implementation of policy and procedure relevant to the Emergency Department environmentCoordinate and deliver divisional professional development study days in conjunction with the Emergency and Critical Care Education teamCandidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:Current registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency as a Registered NurseTertiary postgraduate qualification in Emergency or Critical Care NursingTertiary postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education (or willingness to work towards)Vocational Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is highly desirable (or willingness to work towards)Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skill in Emergency NursingDemonstrated commitment to clinical education and clinical supportStrong interpersonal, leadership and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work within a team structure in a multidisciplinary environment.AWH serves as the largest regional healthcare provider between Sydney and Melbourne, situated in the border cities of Albury and Wodonga.
