Are you passionate about cooking with purpose? Join our team in Griffith and use your culinary skills to make a real difference in the lives of residents in our aged care home.
As a Full-Time Cook, you'll prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while enhancing residents' independence, well-being, and quality of life.
What do we need you to do?
· You'll bring culinary expertise and heartfelt companionship to residents in our residential home, enhancing their independence and enriching their quality of life.
· Facilitate and oversee the quality, timely and effective preparation of food in line with the unique needs of clients in an environment where dietary requirements can change rapidly.
· Plan and develop in consultation with Service Manager and residents rotating menus where appropriate.
· Prepare and cook all daily meals and maintain the storage and protection of food and catering supplies for optimum use.
· Ensure all food preparation and catering practices adhere to hygiene and safety principles and free of any hazards.
About You:
· Experience in aged care (preferred), including cook fresh/cook chill methodology
· Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery (or relevant at same AQF level or above)
· Two years employment experience
· Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and NSW Food Regulation requirements
· Experience managing food purchasing within budget
· Understanding of texture-modified foods and allergen management
