We have an exciting opportunity for a financial asset specialist! The Hills Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Asset Accountant. The position is responsible for financial asset component‐based capitalisation, depreciation calculations, management of infrastructure grant funding and reconciliation to the general ledger, together with overseeing and monitoring external contracts. What This Role Looks Like

* Maintain, monitor & review infrastructure projects budgets and source of funding.
* Maintain, monitor and manage grant funding for complex infrastructure projects such as WSIG, AIF, SIC, R2R etc.
* Finalise capital works year end whilst ensuring all source of funds are accounted for and balanced to General Ledger.
* Manage the financial year end roll over, including contracts, commitments, carry over projects and work orders.
* Perform asset capitalisation and works in progress at year end including reconciliation of the works system to the financial asset module.
* Prepare relevant notes and special schedules required for Statutory Financial Statements and Council Reports.
* Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Budget Reviews, Draft Capital Works Program, Annual Report, End of Term Report and other relevant information as per Integrated Planning and Reporting Requirements.
* Assess Capital Works tenders and prepare or review financial impact statements for inclusion in the relevant Council Reports.
* Maintain and monitor contracts within the Contracts Management system and provide analysis and insights to stakeholders.
* Provide timely and accurate financial information and advice.

What Are We Seeking In Our New Team Member

* Degree in Business/Accounting or similar
* Member of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia or Chartered Accountants (CA) Australia
* Drivers Licence (Class C) – NSW
* Extensive experience (5 to 10 years) in Financial, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting and Performance Management
* Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
