About the Role
The NUM 3 plays a pivotal role in coordinating patient care, overseeing service management and providing strong leadership to the nursing team. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while promoting the efficient and effective use of resources.
The role is integral to maintaining clinical excellence and supporting safe practice, in alignment with current nursing standards and Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) policies and procedures.
This is a Full-Time permanent role based in Coffs Harbour.
About You
You are a dedicated nursing professional with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and can bring extensive operational management experience within a relevant clinical setting, with the proven ability to effectively coordinate unit and service activities to support high-quality patient care.
You have demonstrated success in managing human, physical and financial resources within a defined budget, ensuring services operate safely, efficiently and in line with organisational priorities. Your leadership style is collaborative and supportive, enabling you to effectively guide nursing teams within a multidisciplinary environment. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you confidently consult, liaise and negotiate with staff at all levels, patients, families and external agencies and you are skilled in influencing positive organisational change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Highly proficient in a range of computer applications, you use digital tools to enhance service coordination and operational performance. Your leadership is underpinned by contemporary change management methodologies and a strong understanding of the current issues and challenges facing the nursing profession.

Coffs Harbour Health Campus is a leading regional facility focused on improving health outcomes for the population of approximately 81,000 it services. The hospital is a level five teaching hospital for medicine, nursing, and allied health and also acts as a hub for health research in the region. We are proud to be teaching the clinicians of tomorrow. A 357-bed service, CHHC treats nearly 45,000 emergency presentations each year, including patients with a range of serious and life-threatening conditions such as burns and serious trauma. Coffs Harbour Health Campus is the major referral centre for residents of Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Valley local government areas.
The hospital provides a broad range of general and specialist services including general medicine, general surgery, specialist medicine and surgical services, day surgery, planned and emergency operating theatre surgical services. The Hospital also has a coronary care unit (including coronary angiography unit), a large intensive care unit, obstetrics, paediatrics, a 24-hour Emergency Department, oncology, palliative care, stroke, acute renal dialysis, mental health services (including high dependency) and outpatient clinics. In addition to operating a large acute hospital we offer sub-acute services including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, a regional psychiatric service, specialist clinics, dialysis and a range of outreach services. Patients requiring neurosurgery or heart surgery are transferred to other facilities for these procedures. A rooftop helipad facilitates aeromedical transfers and patient retrieval.
